Calendar & events
The community calendar shows board events, social gatherings, reservations on shared amenities, and ongoing projects, all in one month-grid view.
On this page
What you see
/calendar is a month grid. Each cell shows the events scheduled for that day, plus a few overlays: your own amenity reservations (if reservations are enabled), a bar for any active project that spans the day (if projects are enabled), and a small photo badge on event days where photos have been uploaded.
Navigation defaults to the current month; URL params year and month let you deep-link to a specific month. Clicking a day expands a list of that day’s events below the grid.
Event types and colors
The default event-type palette has four entries: General, Meeting, Maintenance, and Social Event. Each has a saturated color chosen for clarity at the 60-to-80-pixel chip size the grid renders. Your admin can rename these or add new types in Site Settings.
Event chips fill the day cell with the type’s color and the event title in white. The legend at the top of the page is togglable: click a type to hide all events of that type from the grid without leaving the calendar.
RSVPs
Every event accepts three responses: going, maybe, or not_going. Click an event to open its detail, then pick your response. You can change your mind any time before the event happens; the count updates live for everyone viewing the calendar.
Going and maybe counts show on the event card. Admins see the not_going count too in their admin view, because it’s useful for planning capacity.
Other layers on the calendar
Reservations. Amenities you’ve reserved (and not cancelled) appear on the days they cover. Only your own reservations show, not other residents’. This is how you cross-reference your clubhouse booking against the day a board meeting was scheduled in the same room.
Project bars. If your community uses the Projects feature for ongoing capital work, active projects render as a colored bar spanning the days they cover (estimated_start to estimated_end). The bar color is admin-configurable.
Minutes. Past board meetings that have published minutes are flagged on the calendar with a small marker. Clicking through opens the meeting’s minutes page.
Photo badges. If photos have been uploaded to an event (past events), the calendar shows a small camera badge with the photo count on that day.
Creating events (admins)
Admins and board members can create events from the calendar admin view. The form takes a title, type, start and end times, location, description, optional attachment, and optionally a Google Meet link or recording URL. There’s also an option to post a linked announcement at the same time, which uses the event as the announcement’s source event.
