Community photos

A shared album, organized around the events you already use, plus a general Community album for everyday photos that don’t belong to a specific event.

Event-first organization

Most photos are grouped by the event they belong to, newest event first, so the spring picnic, the holiday party, and the pool open each get their own row instead of becoming a tangled stream. Anything that doesn’t fit an event goes in the general Community album, which is always available, so you never need an event just to share a photo.

No event? Use the Community album
When you upload, the picker always lists Community at the top alongside your recent events. Pick it for everyday shots that aren’t tied to a specific event. you don’t have to wait for someone to add a calendar event first.

Uploading

Any approved resident can upload. From the photos page you tap Add photos, pick a target (the general Community album, or a recent event. the picker pulls past events from the last 12 months), and drop the image in. Files land in the event-photos storage bucket and a row is written to event_photos linking the file to you as the uploader, and to the event when you chose one.

Browsing by year

The page derives a year list from the events that have photos: only years with actual photos appear, so you can’t click into an empty 2019. Selecting a year filters the event groups to that year; the “All” option shows everything.

Reactions

Each photo has its own emoji reactions, same idea as elsewhere in the app. Hover a photo and the reaction bar appears; tap an emoji to add yours, tap it again to remove it. Reactions stack with a count under the photo and tell you who reacted on hover.

Removing a photo

You can delete photos you uploaded. Admins can delete any photo. Deleting removes both the row in event_photos and the file in the storage bucket, so it’s a clean remove and not a soft hide. There’s no undo: re-upload if you change your mind.
